Terms & Conditions of Booking

We look forward to welcoming you to Fox Camping. By making a holiday booking with us you accept the following Terms & Conditions:

The Greener Camping Club

In order to comply with countryside planning policy, we operate as a Greener Camping Club members-only campsite. The Club was established by people with a passion for sustainable, eco-friendly camping holidays. When you book your holiday with us, you will be enrolled as a member of the Club. Membership costs just £12 per family for the calendar year and gives you access to some of the greenest campsites in the UK. A tree is planted here for every member we enrol.

Payment

We request a 20% non-refundable deposit when booking a camping pitch. Receipt of the deposit secures your booking. Alongside the deposit you will need to pay in full £12 for your Greener Camping Club membership, we arrange this at time of booking and it's non refundable. Pitches and tents are held provisionally for seven days, after which, if we have not received your deposit, the dates will be released. The balance is required four weeks prior to your arrival date. If we do not receive your balance by this time, we will assume you have cancelled your holiday and release the dates - see below. For short lead-time bookings - ie. those booked less than four weeks before arrival, the full amount will be requested to secure the booking.

Cancellation by You

If you cancel your holiday four weeks or more before your arrival date and you have paid in full, 80% will be refunded, you just pay the 20% booking fee. Holidays cancelled within 4 weeks of your arrival date will not be refunded, but you will be offered alternative dates. If you are concerned about the prospect of cancellation, please take out holiday insurance.

Our wet weather guarantee allows you to reschedule your stay for this year or next, to any available dates of equal value, but can only be done with 3 days notice (so if you are due to arrive on Saturday, the latest you can cancel is Wednesday), if you cancel with less notice you will be liable for the cost of the holiday with no refund or alternative dates. If you do not turn up for your stay and have not let us know, you will not be entitled to rebook.

Cancellation by Us

Fox Camping reserves the right to cancel at short notice if we are unable to provide safe accommodation or camping environment, due to extreme weather conditions, ill health, fire, flooding, a Covid Lockdown or any other extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Under such circumstances, your full payment will be returned to you or you can of course book alternative dates. Fox Camping cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, caused by cancellation, so please take out adequate holiday insurance.

The Greener Camping Club membership fee is not refundable.

Children & Adults Safety

There are many opportunities for play and adventure at Fox Camping. Our aim is for children to have a truly enriching experience of space and freedom. But there are contingent risks to be aware of. We permit campfires, we have dogs, we mow with a ride-on mower. These risks are small and should be self-evident - but if you are not clear, please ask! Fox Camping accepts no responsibility for injury incurred on site. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children and dogs on site at all times.

Arrival & Departure

Arrival time is between 2pm and 6pm (please let us know a rough arrival time by text).

On departure day, please vacate your camping pitch by 12pm.

When you arrive please pull into the campsite and park in front of the green gates, send a text so Victoria can come and meet you. DO NOT help yourself to a pitch unless you have arranged this in advance.

Cars

One car per pitch as we're a small site, if you have more cars, you'll need to pay. In extreme weather, cars will not be allowed on the grass and will have to park by the barn or on the owner's drive.

Consideration for Others

This is a peaceful, family campsite for the enjoyment of nature. We ask that you don't play music and talk quietly after 9.30pm. Noisy visitors who disturb other guests will be asked politely to leave, without refund.

Recycling & Rubbish

As an eco campsite all rubbish MUST be recycled. That means separating glass, tins, plastic, paper, cardboard, etc and placing them in the designated bins. Only items that are not recyclable can be placed in general waste which may be burned, so please ensure our safety by not placing glass or batteries or anything dangerous in the general waste. If you can, please burn your rubbish on your own campfires carefully. Please rinse your recycling out. Food waste goes in the general waste in Cornwall.

Campfires

Please only use the designated campfire pits, you can bring your own but it must be placed on our metal. Do not leave your campfire unattended and think carefully about whether or not to light a fire if it is windy or dry, in some cases we may have to ban fires due to long periods of dry weather. Fox Camping accepts no liablity for injury or damage caused by your campfire. By lighting it you accept full responsibility for it.

Chemical Toilet Disposal

We run on a septic tank here so PLEASE DO NOT use tip chemicals in our toilets or drains, anything down a drain here other than water will flow into the fields. We can now accept chemical waste, but it must be disposed of in the specified container near the bins.

Day Visitors

Day visitors are only permitted by prior agreement and will incur the extra car charge.

Property Loss

Fox Camping cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property. We are very happy to store bikes and boards for you.

Smokers

BADGER BARN AREA is non smoking. If you smoke, do so on your own pitch and dispose of your cigarette ends in your campfire or very carefully in the general waste. Anyone breaking these rules may be asked to leave without refund.

Dog Policy

We love dogs at Fox Camping, but all dogs MUST be on a lead in the campsite. All dog waste MUST be picked up and disposed of carefully in the general waste. Dogs must NEVER be left unattended on site. We offer dog-day-care at an extra charge. It fills up quickly so you will need to book in advance of your stay.

The Weather

Very strong winds and torrential rain can occur at any time of year. You must ensure that your tent is robust and pitched correctly. Please note, we do not provide a refund because the weather has not worked out, or is not to your liking. You can rearrange your holiday in line with our weather guarantee policy which asks for 3 days' notice. *In very wet weather, cars will not be allowed on the pitches or grass.
